The Ecoflex 5 FRNC is a thin, extremely flexible coaxial cable designed for frequencies up to 6 GHz. Thanks to the low loss compared to the outer diameter of 5.5 mm and the very small bend radius, this cable is ideal for various RF applications.
The low damping values of the Ecoflex 5 FRNC are achieved through advanced manufacturing techniques and the use of a low loss PE-LLC dielectric with a foam content of more than 70%. This unique dielectric also provides water resistance and long-lasting stability. The inner conductor consists of 19 braided wires of low-oxygen copper (OFC), which contributes to the cable's remarkable flexibility.
The Ecoflex 5 FRNC has a double shielding, consisting of overlapping copper foil and an additional shielding of copper wires with 80% coverage. The copper foil has a PE coating to prevent cracking at short radius bends. The jacket is made of a special thermoplastic copolymer (FRNC), which is flame retardant and halogen-free. This ensures low fire loads, limited flame spread and minimal smoke emissions, making the cable safer in the event of fire.
