27MC and CB Radios – What are they?

A 27MHz transceiver (also called 27MC or CB radio) operates on the 11-meter band, which runs around 27 MHz. Frequency bands – Here’s how it works:

12-meter band (24.89–24.99 MHz) : rarer, but used by radio amateurs who want wideband communications.
