The B HI NEDSP1901-PCB-Mic is an easy-to-use audio DSP module that effectively removes unwanted noise and interference from speech signals picked up by a microphone.
Advanced functionality
This module has an increased sensitivity and can handle signals of only a few millivolts. After the DSP processor there is a buffer amplifier that can increase the total input and output gain by up to 36dB, allowing it to be connected directly to a 600 Ohm load. In the default configuration the pass-through gain is set to a nominal 1, but this can be increased by about 6 dB via RV2 (Output Level). At high input levels RV1 can be adjusted to keep these signals at the correct level.
Reinforcement and AGC
The NEDSP1901-PCB offers selectable adjustments that can increase the gain by up to approximately 30 dB for use with very small signals. These adjustments are discreet and easily accessible. In addition, the module has an AGC (Automatic Gain Control) function, which continuously adjusts the gain setting during use. This allows the NEDSP1901-PCB-MIC to also function as a communications microphone and noise suppression module.
Microphone Compatibility
The NEDSP1901-PCB-MIC is equipped with a separate plug-in DSP module, allowing the use of various types of microphones or inserts, including:
- Magnetic or dynamic inserts
- MEM's capsules
- Capacitor-Electret (or electret capsules)
Applications
This module is primarily designed for voice transmission. Other signals such as data, music and Morse (CW) can be transmitted to a limited extent, but the integrity of these signals cannot be guaranteed.
