Comet SBB-7

The Comet SBB-7 dual band is a mobile antenna 2 meters and 440 MHz. It is a 5/8 wave center load on 2 meters which provides a gain of 4.5 dB and 3 x 5/8 wave on 440 MHz which provides a gain of 7.2 dB. VSWR 1.5:1 or less. This antenna can handle up to 70 watts. The color of the Comet SBB-7 is black.

This antenna is 55 inches high with fold-over. The connector type is a gold-plated UHF (for PO mounting).

Most Comet mobile antennas over 29" in length have a folding hinge built into the base portion of the antenna. It is NOT an automatic flip function, you must manually lift the element up from the holder and lower the antenna to remove garages, parking structures, etc. to be entered.

It is important that you lift the sprit completely up and out of the socket before folding the hinge.

Like any hinge, if it is folded in the wrong direction it will break. The hinge rotates 360 degrees in the socket so that it folds in the desired direction.
