The Firestik FG4-648 NGP CB Antenna Kit is specifically designed for vehicles and environments that lack a traditional ground plane. This makes it ideal for RVs, boats, motorcycles, ATVs, trucks and other applications with limited or non-existent metal surfaces. The unique NGP design eliminates issues such as high SWR and poor performance by incorporating an isolated ground plane.
Advanced antenna technology
The FG4-648 antenna uses a high quality 5/8 wave tuning similar to the Firestik II series. The core is constructed of reinforced fiberglass for optimum flexibility and strength. The chrome plated brass mounting base has a standard 3/8-24 thread and is compatible with all Firestik mounting systems. Thanks to the innovative helix winding and heavily insulated copper wiring, this antenna provides excellent signal transfer and resistance to corrosion.
High quality Fire Flex coaxial cable
The supplied 5.2 meter Fire Flex coax cable is specially developed for NGP systems. This cable contains a multi-core conductor to prevent cable breaks due to vibrations. In addition, a double shielding with aluminum tape and a braided copper sheath ensures maximum signal protection. Please note: the length of the cable may not be shortened to prevent damage to the system.
Assembly and use
The Firestik FG4-648 NGP KIT comes with a stainless steel 3-way transom bracket, suitable for mounting on vertical and horizontal pipes or flat surfaces. A heavy-duty stainless steel spring with brass ends acts as a coupling between the antenna and the mounting bracket, providing additional flexibility and shock absorption.
Important note:
All CB antennas must be tuned after installation for optimum performance. The Firestik FG Series is designed for exclusive use with Firestik NGP coaxial cables. FG Series Whips are not interchangeable with FS Series antennas.
