The Firestik FL series antennas are the performance highlights of the lightweight top-loaded 27Mhz antennas. They are approximately 40% lighter than the Firestik II (FS Series) antenna of the same length. From a mounting tension point of view, the lighter materials and reduced air resistance give the FL antennas more than 60%. tension. A FireFly antenna of 125cm will perform better on a Firestik mounting that is suitable for antennas of 100cm or less. At the top of every FL antenna you will find the Firestik patented adjustable tip. All Firestik FL antennas are suitable for cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles and off-road vehicles provided they are mounted on a metal surface (ground). Like all other 27Mhz antennas, this Firestik FL Antenna requires adjustment (SWR) to its final mounting location. If you've ever tuned a non-tunable tip antenna you'll really appreciate this Firestik antenna. In short, the adjustment is very simple;

You remove the black plastic top cover and turn the adjustment screw at the top of the antenna up or down as necessary. All Firestik FL antennas meet higher requirements than are necessary for a 27Mhz transceiver, both new and old. Apart from the high performance coil that maximizes the functions of your 27Mhz transceiver, these top-loaded FL Antennas will also be able to receive the distress signals and warning transmissions on the transceivers that have this function.

The Firestik FL antennas are 100 % American made and made with 100 % American raw materials . To maintain a balance between flexibility and robustness , Firestik uses a modified fiberglass- blended reinforced shaft. Everything wrapped with heavily insulated copper wire to prevent oxidation and short circuiting .

The adjustable tip mechanism is made of stainless brass and has a rubber O-ring to keep the regulator in place after adjustment . The 3 / 8-24 thread has a tapered contact point that works especially well with Firestik mounts and accessories. The tapered lug nut reduces the chance of it wire loosens due to vibrations. Each antenna is covered with a waterproof cover containing UV and pigment stabilizers . For peak performance we recommend using one of our 18 -foot Fire -Flex coaxial cables with these antennas .

All Firestik FireFly FL Series antennas are factory tested for resonance frequency and overall finish and quality before they are shipped . They are available in 4 standard colours ; black or white with a red tip and red or blue with a white tip .



And remember ... ALL antennas , regardless of style or manufacturer , MUST be tuned after installation on the vehicle . Transmitting antennas are not plug - n-play products!

These antennas need mass. They require a metal surface to perform properly. They are not suitable for use on non-metallic vehicles . They can be used on a transmission tower that is made of metal and serves as a base (ground) . When used with a transmitter ( versus a receiver) this antenna must be tested and tuned to the radio operating frequency . Using an untested and unadjusted antenna may damage the transmitter circuit .

By using a Firestik Stud mount (bracket attachment) you also have a good steel surface (ground) for the antenna. For use on surfaces that have a powder coating , paint or anodized surface (these are insulating coatings), you must first remove the coating up to the base point of the underlying metal.
