The Firestik IBA-5 27MC antenna is specifically designed for indoor use, but is also perfect for camping, garden, work sites, office, fishing on the waterfront, or on a boat. This versatile antenna provides a reliable solution for communication in various environments.
Although the Firestik IBA-5 indoor antenna is not intended to replace an outdoor base station antenna, installation is quick and easy with the included mounting instructions. The 5-foot Firestik II-type antenna with patented tunable mechanism is easily adjusted by hand.
The core of the antenna is made of 3/8" fiberglass, wrapped with 19ga double insulated magnet wire, and the base is a chrome plated 1/2" hex brass stock with standard 3/8"-24 threads , covered with white PVC. The center hub connects the antenna, coax and radials together via two round metal disks, mounted with 3/4" spacers.
The supplied 18-foot RG-58A/U coaxial cable has a PL-259 connector for connection to the radio and a Fire-Ring connector for trouble-free operation. The ground plane consists of four 1" x 30" flat steel radials covered with black PVC heat shrink tubing and a protective vinyl tip.
CAUTION: Indoor antennas cannot receive high radio frequency radiation in all metal buildings.
