The Sirio Blizzard 2700 (formerly known as the Pan Blizzard) is a high-quality aluminum base antenna, similar to the Sirio Mega Range 827. This antenna is currently the most popular choice for 27MHz base antennas , thanks to its excellent stability, technical features and renowned quality.
The Sirio Blizzard 2700 offers a wide frequency range of 26 to 29 MHz , a maximum gain of 3.65 dBi , and excellent SWR. The antenna is equipped with an anti-static finish on the tip and special seals to keep out moisture. The design includes a copper coil with a plastic stabilizing ring for vibration and noise, and eight radials of 140 cm each for improved performance.
In developing the Sirio Blizzard 2700, the most modern technologies and advanced instruments have been used, this new base antenna has remarkable characteristics and is made of large-sized silicon-magnesium-aluminum tubes, drawn and cemented on the surface to obtain the maximum strength of the main beam. The coil is made of large-section enameled copper wire, specially designed to withstand high powers. It uses the exclusive system CACS (Coil Auto-Cooling System), which allows self-cooling through a finned support that suspends the coil and allows air circulation.
