The WiNRADiO WR-ARP-ELAZ-100 rotator/positioner system is a versatile and robust system, originally developed for automated satellite tracking. However, this system is also suitable for many other applications. A complete functional system, combined with the WR-RCU-100 rotator controller.

Positioning

Whatever is mounted on the WR-ARP-ELAZ-100 rotator is entirely up to the user, whether it is a Yagi, log periodic or a satellite dish, or on the other hand a telescope, heliostat or a security camera. The software gives the user the possibility to position the rotator manually or automatically in a certain direction, with an accuracy of ±0.5 degrees in each of the vertical and horizontal axes.

Operation

The supplied control software is very easy to use and allows you to manually position the antenna etc. using the four arrow keys on the keyboard or by using the spin control with a computer mouse. Automatic positioning is performed by entering the desired bearing or height in a numerical edit field.

Free support software

With the WiNRADiO development and support software for advanced users you can write your own software control application. The API to the rotor control unit is provided via a series of function calls via a DLL file. This support is available free of charge in the form of a software development kit.

Optionally available WR-RCU-100 Automatic Tracking Controller

The optionally available WiNRADiO WR-RCU-100-ATC (Automatic Tracking Controller) software offers the following additional functions:

  • Fully automated real-time satellite tracking
  • Fully automated task scheduler
  • Flexible task definition system

What makes the system exceptionally powerful is the ease with which this software automatically tracks satellites in orbit around the Earth in real time. To enable automatic tracking, simply select the desired satellite(s) from the presented list, add them to the planner, and the planner will automatically position the antenna to track the selected satellites as they pass.

The integrated world map also shows the specified satellites orbiting the Earth in real time, and the times of the satellite transits are calculated and displayed.

The user can also program tasks for the scheduler by specifying the action to be performed, the duration, start time and date. Completely unattended, automatic satellite tracking can therefore be scheduled well in advance
