Yaesu FT-2980E

The new and improved Yaesu FT-2980 comes with 80 Watts of high power and does not require a cooling fan. The Yaesu FT-2980E has a large and clearly readable display and WIRES™ Internet Linking access at the touch of a button.

CTCSS and DCS encode/decode built-in

For easy repeater access or silent monitoring of busy channels, both CTCSS and DCS encoder/decoder circuits (Digital Code Squelch) are built-in. CTCSS and DCS configuration data can be stored independently in each memory channel. A “Split Tone” mode also allows use on systems where CTCSS and DCS are used separately on the repeater uplink/downlink.

Extensive memory system

The FT-2980E offers a total of 221 memory channels, including 200 “regular” memories, ten pairs of bandlimit memories, and a “Home” channel that you can recall directly from a frequently used repeater or simplex frequency. Memories can store repeater shift information, CTCSS/DCS data, output power level, scan status (“Skip”) and alphanumeric labels.

Alphanumeric channel display

Memory channels can be displayed with the channel frequency or a personalized alphanumeric label, for easy channel identification. Up to six letters, characters, or numbers can be used to label channels.

Receiver performance

The front of the FT-2980E's receiver features Yaesu's renowned Advanced Track Tuning RF input filtering, which provides excellent protection against intermodulation distortion.
