Yaesu FT-4XE

The Yaesu FT-4XE is a compact mono and dual-band radio that is equipped with an extensive number of functions. The Yaesu FT-4XE has three output power levels: 5, 2.5 or 0.5 Watt and transmits from 144 to 148 MHz and from 400 to 480 MHz. The reception coverage is 65-108 MHz (FM), 136-174 MHz and 400-480 MHz. The FT-4XE is compact and light, yet robustly built. The speaker delivers no less than 1 Watt of powerful, clear sound. The included 1750 mAh Li-ion battery can be used for up to 15 hours (TX 5 seconds, RX 5 seconds, standby 90 seconds).

The included SBH-22 fast charger fully charges the battery in 3.5 hours. VOX control is also available with the optional SSM-512B headset with microphone. Other features include: WX channels with "Severe Weather" alert, PC programming (optional cable), transceiver-to-transceiver cloning (optional cable), keyboard input, FM broadcast receiver, Auto Range Transponder System (ARTS), CTCSS/ DCS control, Busy Channel Lockout (BLCO), Automatic Power Off function and Transmitter Time Out Timer (TOT). Size: 2.1 x 3.5 x 1.2 inches (without buttons and antenna) 8.82 oz.

Scan capabilities

Programmable VFO scan scans all channels in the desired frequency range, memory scan allows scanning of user selectable frequencies, priority channel scan can be used to scan memory channels while prioritizing one channel. Weather Alert scan alerts the user when severe weather is approaching.

Programmable via PC

The FT-4XE can be programmed directly from a PC, making all advanced installation functions a breeze using the optional software and SCU-35 programming cable.

Timeout timer (TOT)

Set the transceiver to automatically return to receive mode after transmitting continuously for a specified period of time. The TOT function limits unintended transmission of unnecessary signals and unwanted battery consumption.
Busy Channel Lock-Out (BCLO) - the BCLO feature prevents transmission while a received signal is strong enough to open the "noise" squelch.
Auto Power Off (APO) - This feature helps prevent battery drain by automatically turning off the transceiver if no operation occurs for a specified period of time.
