Yaesu FTA-850L

The Yaesu FTA-850L is a portable airband transceiver equipped with features such as improved navigation function by ILS, VOR or GPS, a 2.4 inch color screen and a memory with 400 channels. In addition, the Yaesu FTA-850L has a built-in Bluetooth module with which you can connect this airband transceiver to the Yaesu SSM-BT10 Bluetooth headset or any other Bluetooth headset. The housing of the FTA-850L is IPX-5 waterproof, rugged, durable and meets MIL-STD-810H standards.

What's in the package?

The Yaesu FTA-850L comes with a 2200mAh lithium-ion battery, a headset adapter, a 100-240Volt charger, a 12VDC power cable, a charging station, a battery drawer for alkaline batteries and a belt clip.

ILS navigation

When the Yaesu FTA-850L receives an ILS signal, the display automatically switches to the NAV band screen which shows a CDI (Course Deviation Indicator) based on the received signal or the glide slope signal. The course and altitude deviations are clearly shown on the CDI display, which helps with the landing approach in poor weather conditions.

VOR navigation

When the Yaesu FTA-850L receives a VOR signal, the display automatically switches to the NAV band screen and shows the CDI. The top of the compass rose always indicates the direction set as the OBS. The SOG (Speed ​​Over Ground) is only displayed when the FTA-850L internal GPS is activated and a fix has been obtained.

Flight route display and navigation

The Flight Route Navigation feature clearly displays the itinerary, listing the waypoints from the departure point to the final destination, including the current position where the navigation is being performed. Route, location and trip status can be viewed at a glance. Navigation is also displayed on the easy-to-read color compass screen.

Dual frequency display

The Yaesu FTA-850L's DD (Dual Frequency Display) screen presents two frequencies separately at the top and bottom of the screen. The most recently tuned information (communication frequency, memory group and weather channel) is always automatically set to the active channel. The target mode and channel can be easily switched between different modes using the DD screen, without going through the MEN.
